The new trio of Andrea Hermenau (voc / p), Peter Cudek (b / e-b) and Christian Lettner (dr) is deeply committed to jazz and worldmusic.
In their many years of musical collaboration, Cudek and Hermenau have found that their way of composing complements and enriches each other wonderfully: powerful grooves and fragile soundscapes meet here, detailed passages and free structures are juxtaposed, the voice tells stories or sings breakneck vocalise.
It is a joyful, powerful stride through the rhythms of different worlds, reminiscent of flâneurs.
Sometimes listeners are taken to warm summer evenings and dawn, sometimes to the hustle and bustle of the city or the seaside.
Enchantingly beautiful melodies rise up like islands in their compositions.
The trio would be nothing without the outstanding drummer Christian Lettner, a highly virtuoso player as well as a sensitive listener, professor of jazz drums at Munich University of Music and Theatre and a long-standing member of Klaus Doldinger’s Passport. Peter Cudek won the 2016 Bremen Jazz Prize with “Trio Elf” after several international tours. Based on great mutual trust, the three celebrate trio playing full of joie de vivre at a high level.
We recently recorded our new album “magia” in Udine, Italy, which will be released by Laika Records in October. We are very much looking forward to it 🙂
